Sharon Health Center
This community health center was completed in two phases for Gifford Medical Center. Our original project was a 2,744 square foot health center completed in 2005. This was a wood framed building that we panelized in our Berlin, Vermont shop then transported the panels to the job site and set them with a crane, accelerating the construction schedule.
Three years later, we were hired to construct a 2,076 square foot addition. This addition provided needed exam rooms and evaluation rooms, plus a 500 square foot physical therapy gym, an x-ray room, and additional office and work areas. The scope of work also included the installation of a 3-phase power service to the building to accommodate the new x-ray machine and a mobile MRI trailer.
We completed the addition during the winter months, which required us to control & monitor temporary heat & humidity content in order to avoid mold & mildew issues. The existing health center remained open for business as usual even while the two buildings were being connected and the interior finishes were blended together.
