Copley Hospital MRI Suite

Connor Contracting completed an addition for Copley Hospital's new MRI Suite. The installation of a Magnetom Sola, a new 1.5T MRI system from Siemens Healthineers, was the focus of our project. This state-of-the-art imaging machine replaces the existing unit that was in a trailer at another part of the hospital campus.

The magnet room is constructed inside of a copper radio frequency (RF) shield. This shield prevents outside radio frequencies from interfering with the imaging equipment. The magnet room is also built to support the latest technology, improving a patient’s experience by offering visual imaging and ambient mood lighting. The completed suite houses an IV preparation room, a patient changing room, an ADA compliant restroom, and a waiting room.

Our team worked tirelessly with Copley Hospital’s facilities staff to minimize impact on their daily operations. Critical barriers were utilized to contain the construction activity. This step was vital to ensuring that any dust and debris did not enter any active hospital areas.
