The American Rail Dispatching Center (ARDC) relocated to its new home; a 10,000 SF state of the art facility located at The Fonda site on Lower Newton Street. ARDC is responsible for dispatching more than 100 short-line railroads throughout North America. Dispatchers operate from this building 24/7, 365 days per year.
Our scope of work included building 18 dispatch rooms plus additional office spaces, a locker room, a conference room, and kitchen. One of the biggest challenges on this project was creating redundant power and communication services to ensure that the facility was able to operate seamlessly in the event of a power outage or network issue. The talented field staff at Connor Contracting self-performed all framing, installation of trusses, interior finishes, exterior siding and finish carpentry, and window and door installation.
